Sharing this in an interview at Cool FM, the singer made it known that for her, the song had been a means of reassuring herself as she’d been in a place of uncertainty. Ayra Starr said; “When I made Rush, I was in a phase where I was unsure of myself. And I grew up, a confident person. I felt like everything was someone else’s idea, it wasn’t mine, so I wanted to find myself, be in charge, and take agency and that’s when I made Rush.
Ayra Starr’s Rush has rocketed to the top of the charts since its release on the 16th of September, even going as far as to become the number one song in the country for several days and it is currently in the fourth position on the Apple Music Top 100 Nigeria charts.
