Kim Mathers, the ex-wife of rapper Eminem, was recently seen in Michigan sporting a noticeable facial injury. This sighting follows her brief mention on Eminem’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace),” his first in four years.

The 49-year-old, who is reportedly on good terms with her former husband, was photographed running errands with a band-aid covering a small injury above a bruise on her left cheek. Kim, embracing a rockstar look with a white and blue bandana and spiked blonde hair, was seen stepping out of her car for a quick smoke break.
Exclusive photos obtained by The U.S. Sun show Kim wearing a black vest top, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers. She accessorized with sunglasses, numerous bracelets, and a pink leather watch, carrying a large set of keys on a lanyard reading “Good Vibes,” along with a small purple pouch and her cell phone. Despite the injury, Kim appeared in good spirits.
Kim’s recent public appearance coincides with the release of Eminem’s new album, where her voice is featured in an old family recording on the track “Temporary.” The song includes their daughter, Hailie Jade, now 29, in the post-chorus, stirring interest among fans.
Eminem and Kim share a complex history, having married twice—first in 1999 and again briefly in 2006—before ultimately divorcing. The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has rarely mentioned Kim in his music since their tumultuous relationship, which included a defamation lawsuit from Kim over violent lyrics in his song “Kim.”
In 2017, Eminem issued an apology to Kim in the song “Bad Husband” from his album “Revival,” reflecting on their troubled past: “We brought out the worst in each other / Someone had to make the sparring end / ‘Cause I loved you, but I hated that me / And I don’t wanna see that side again / But I’m sorry, Kim / More than you could ever comprehend.”
The couple’s daughter, Hailie Jade, recently got married, with Eminem walking her down the aisle. While Kim was present at the wedding, she was not seen in photographs with her ex-husband.
Kim also has an adopted daughter, Alaina, 31, from her late sister Dawn, who passed away in 2016. Additionally, she has a 22-year-old child, Stevie Laine, who identifies as non-binary, and a teenage son, Parker, from a previous relationship. Eminem has reportedly played a significant role in raising Alaina and Stevie.

In 2023, Kim opened up to The U.S. Sun about her struggles with mental health and grief, following the loss of her mother, father, and sister over the past decade. She shared that she spent time in a treatment facility and has been clean since October of the previous year.
Despite the hardships, Kim remains positive and focused on her recovery: “It’s been hard, I lost my mom, my dad, and my sister. But I’m good. I’ve been clean since about October. I went to Jefferson House for 45 days.”
