Emerging Bongo Fleva artist, Founder TZ, has opened up about his difficult upbringing, revealing that he never knew his biological father. His father abandoned the family when Founder was young, marrying another woman and leaving them behind.

Founder TZ, who was recently announced by Babu Tale to perform at the Wasafi Festival 2023, shared that he was raised by his mother, who sustained the family through vegetable farming and agriculture.
“I left my father when I was 11 years old after he separated from my mother and married another woman. I returned to my mother due to the mistreatment I faced from my stepmother. Since then, I haven’t seen my father.

“Our home conditions are tough; we all sleep in one room—my mother, my sister, my younger siblings, and I. When it rains, the house leaks.
“I was born here in Tanzania, at the Nyarugusu refugee camp. I am now 14 years old. My father is Congolese, and my mother is Tanzanian.
“My mother supports our family through vegetable farming, which is what sustains us,” said Founder TZ.
Founder TZ continues to make strides in the music industry, with his new song “Mfano,” produced by Eyoo Trone, capturing the hearts of many. The music video, directed by Folex, tells the story of Zabibu, a young girl admired by society for her exemplary behavior. Shot in Dar es Salaam, the video adds a powerful visual element to his compelling lyrics.
