We are deeply saddened to report the passing of beloved comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu. He departed this world on Saturday, March 2, after a valiant struggle with blood clotting issues in his leg, at a hospital in Lagos state.

Mr. Ibu had been facing serious health challenges for years, leading to a recent leg amputation in November 2023. Despite undergoing a second surgery, his condition worsened, with blood pressure soaring above 200, ultimately resulting in his being placed on life support.
The veteran actor, adored for his exceptional comedic talent in films, had publicly sought financial help in October 2023 for his medical condition. Plans for treatment abroad were halted due to the severity of his health.
Leaving behind a wife and children, Mr. Ibu was 62 years old at the time of his passing. His legacy as a master of comedy and his contributions to the film industry will forever be remembered.
