Blu 3 was a remarkable all-female Ugandan band that came together in April 2004 following their victory on the television show Coca-Cola Popstars. The name “Blu 3” cleverly signifies “Three Beautiful (or Black) Ladies from Uganda.” The founding members included Jackie Chandiru, Lilian Mbabazi, and Cinderella Sanyu. They recently released a brand new song titled “Nsanyuka Nawe.”

In 2006, Blu 3 returned to the studio, reuniting with their long-time producer and manager, Steve Jean, to create their full-length album titled “Burrn.” The album’s title track featured Navio from the hip-hop group Klear Kut, adding a unique dimension to their music. Among the album’s notable hits were songs penned by Sylver Kyagulanyi, including “Nsanyuka Nawe,” “Ndibeera Nawe,” and “Nkoye.”
The group’s influence extended beyond Uganda, as they embarked on successful tours in several countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, the UK, and Ethiopia. Excitement brewed as they planned to release a new album in late 2008, collaborating with international producers like Charlie King and Aydee from Goodenuff. The working title for this project was “B3,” and production was set to conclude in October 2009. The first single from the upcoming album, “Together,” featured a Latin flavor and was produced by Steve Jean.
