Tanzanian artist Marioo has kicked off the new year with a bang, releasing his latest hit ‘Away‘, a collaboration with Harmonize. This track, with a runtime of 3 minutes and 40 seconds, is their second collaboration and has been expertly crafted by producer Sky, with cucky Daddy handling the mixing and mastering.

Released on Friday (January 12), ‘Away‘ has already climbed to the top of the charts, securing the number one spot on Apple Music Tanzania’s ‘Top 100 Most Played Songs’. This marks a historic achievement for both artists, as it’s their first song to reach number one since the beginning of the year.
Prior to the release of ‘Away‘, the top spot on the Apple Music chart was held by ‘Buruda’ by Jaivah and Marioo, which dominated the number one position for four consecutive weeks. However, within just 19 hours of its release, ‘Away’ swiftly climbed to the top, pushing ‘Buruda’ to the second spot.
The song that previously occupied the second position, ‘Angel Numbers / Ten To Toes’ by Chris Brown, has now moved down to third place.
It’s also notable that Marioo features three times in the top 10 chart. This includes his collaboration with Mocco Genius on ‘Mi Nawe’, which currently holds the fifth position. Marioo’s rise in the charts is a testament to his growing influence and popularity in the Tanzanian music scene.
