Former Gang Leader Keffe D Granted $750,000 Bail in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

Former Gang Leader Keffe D Granted 0,000 Bail in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a former gang leader from the Los Angeles area and a suspect in the murder of iconic US rapper Tupac Shakur, has been granted bail set at $750,000. Tupac Shakur was infamously shot and killed on September 7, 1996, in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas at just 25 years old, following a boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel.

Keffe D was arrested in September 2023, more than two decades after the incident, and charged with murder using a deadly weapon. His arrest followed a raid conducted by Las Vegas police two months earlier at his wife’s home in Henderson, searching for evidence related to Shakur’s murder.

During a court hearing in Las Vegas, Davis’ legal team argued for his release on bail before the trial. They insisted that Davis posed neither a danger to society nor a flight risk. They reiterated his plea of not guilty, claiming his previous statements about Shakur’s murder were solely for entertainment and financial purposes.

However, the prosecution strongly opposed his release, describing Davis as a cold-blooded killer. Despite their objections, Judge Carli Kierny decided to grant bail, setting the amount at $750,000. Kierny also stipulated that if Davis were to be released on bail, he would be under house arrest with electronic monitoring while awaiting his trial.

This development in the long-standing Tupac Shakur murder case has reignited interest and debate about one of the most notorious unsolved cases in the history of music.
