In a surprising turn of events, American pop icon Britney Spears has declared that she will “never return to the music industry.” This statement came as a response to recent US media speculations about her comeback and collaboration with notable songwriters for a potential 10th studio album.

On January 3, Britney Spears took to Instagram to dispel these rumors. Accompanying a photo of Guido Reni’s painting depicting the biblical story of Salome with John the Baptist’s head, she firmly addressed the claims. “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!” Spears wrote, dismissing the reports of her turning to songwriters like Julia Michaels and Charlie XCX for a new album.
In her post, Spears emphasized, “I will never return to the music industry!!!” She revealed that her writing pursuits are now purely for personal enjoyment or for others, sharing that she has ghostwritten over 20 songs in the past two years. “I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way,” she explained.
Spears also addressed another rumor regarding her 2023 memoir “The Woman In Me.” Contrary to claims that the memoir was released without her approval, she clarified that this was “far from the truth.”
This announcement marks a significant shift for the singer, who has been a prominent figure in the music industry for decades. It seems Spears is now finding fulfillment in writing behind the scenes and stepping away from the spotlight of the music industry.
