Brown excitedly revealed, “I have some news, and I heard that The View is the place to announce things like this. I’m engaged.” She then pointed out her fiancé, Anthony Davis, who was present in the audience, delighting everyone with his surprise appearance.
Co-host Sunny Hostin expressed her happiness for the couple and inquired about how they met. Brown and Davis have a long history, having known each other since their 20s. They first met in an acting class at their church, where they were merely platonic friends, as Davis was married at the time. After losing touch for several years, they reconnected in 2021, following the passing of Brown’s mother.
Brown believes that this reunion was more than a coincidence, feeling that her late mother and Davis’s mother played a role in bringing them back together. She spoke fondly of Davis, describing him as “a nice, kind, loving man.”
The proposal was as unique as their story. While in Ohio celebrating the renaming of her high school auditorium after her, Davis surprised Brown with a lottery scratch card. Instead of a cash prize, the card read, “Will you marry me?” Brown humorously remarked, “I thought I was going to win some money and I won a man.”
