Osaka, who welcomed her daughter Shai with rapper boyfriend Cordae five months ago, candidly shared her childbirth experience in an interview with InStyle. “I do remember feeling in that moment, this is the worst pain of my life,” she said. Despite the intense pain, Osaka found a sense of strength, realizing that if she could endure childbirth, other challenges would seem more manageable.
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Osaka admitted that it was tougher than expected. “I don’t think people know how hard pregnancy is; no one really talks about it as much,” she expressed, noting the contrast between the anticipated beauty of pregnancy and its actual hardships.
Osaka also opened up about her initial doubts regarding motherhood, but soon realized the extraordinary nature of being a mom, calling them “superheroes” yet also “people.” This realization helped her embrace her new role with confidence and grace.
Addressing recent speculation about her relationship with Cordae, Osaka confirmed that their bond remains strong. She attributes their solid foundation to mutual respect and effective communication, especially when disagreements arise. “At the end of the day, we both want what’s best for Shai,” she affirmed.
The tennis star also shared her joy in motherhood, describing Shai as “pure” and lovingly talking about her daughter’s smiles and growing interactions.
As she prepares for her comeback, Osaka’s journey back to the tennis court is not just a professional milestone but also a personal triumph, balancing her role as a world-class athlete and a devoted mother.
