Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka End Their Relationship Amidst Differences over Having Children

In a surprising turn of events, iconic American singer Mariah Carey and her longtime boyfriend, backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, have parted ways after seven years of being together. The reason behind this split, as revealed by a source to Page Six, is rooted in their differing views on expanding their family.

Tanaka, 40, expressed his desire to have children, a sentiment not shared by Carey, 54. This fundamental difference, compounded by their 14-year age gap, eventually led to the end of their relationship. The source emphasized, “He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at.”

Carey, known for her hit song “Fantasy,” is already a mother to 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon. Meanwhile, Tanaka, who first worked with Carey as a dancer in 2006 and began dating her in 2016, does not have any children.

The couple’s breakup became more apparent when Tanaka was noticeably absent from Carey’s “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour which started this November in California. Further fueling the speculations, Carey embarked on her annual trip to Aspen, Colorado, alone this year.

Their separation marks the end of a significant chapter in both their lives, one that fans have followed since the couple first made their relationship public.
