Former Tennis Star David Nalbandian’s Ex-Girlfriend Seeks Restraining Order Over Hidden Camera Allegations

Former tennis star David Nalbandian is facing serious allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Araceli Torrado, who has recently filed for a restraining order against him. This action comes after the discovery of a hidden camera in her apartment, which she claims was used to film her naked.

Araceli Torrado, a 30-year-old model, alleges that Nalbandian secretly installed the camera behind an air shaft in her apartment. The Sun reports that she has taken her case to court, accusing the 41-year-old former athlete of harassment and stalking. She is demanding the seizure of Nalbandian’s electronic devices, fearing the extent of the recorded footage involving her private life.

Torrado expressed her distress to Argentine media, stating, “Nalbandian filmed me and recorded me for enough time to have footage and images of me naked and other private moments involving me, my family, and my friends. I feel panic and anxiety at what he could have on his phone or on an application. We want a court order for the seizure of his electronic devices.”

After giving her testimony, Torrado mentioned feeling relieved that the issue is now in the public domain and being addressed by the justice system. An initial court probe was dismissed as Torrado and Nalbandian had previously shared the home where the camera was found. However, this decision was overturned on appeal, allowing Torrado to present her evidence.

The discovery of the camera was made in June when Torrado’s brother noticed a suspicious glow behind an air shaft. Upon investigation, they found a Wi-Fi-controlled camera. Nalbandian reportedly excused himself, claiming he hadn’t seen anything due to internet problems.

The court’s decision on Araceli Torrado’s requests is expected to be announced before Christmas. This case has brought significant attention to Nalbandian, who was a top-tier tennis player in the 2000s, reaching the Wimbledon final in 2002 and achieving a career-high world ranking of No. 3 in 2006.
