Kim Kardashian Opens Up About North West's Preference for Dad Kanye's Lifestyle

In a candid conversation with her sister Kourtney during the November 2 episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian delved into the complexities of co-parenting, revealing why her eldest daughter, North West, expresses a preference for spending time with her father, Kanye West.

Kim, who shares four children with her ex Kanye, shared that North often praises her dad’s lifestyle. According to Kim, after visiting Kanye, North would say, “‘Dad is the best… He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, and he doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment.'” North’s emotional reaction and inquiries about not having a similar lifestyle at her mom’s house struck a chord with Kim.

Kourtney, who has her own co-parenting experiences with ex-Scott Disick, resonated with Kim’s situation. She shared that her kids have also made comparisons between their parents’ homes, often favoring their father’s. “Dad has the best house, your house sucks. He has the best house. It’s not super big, the vibe’s better,” Kourtney echoed her children’s words. She reflected on the burden often shouldered by the more involved parent in co-parenting dynamics.

Kim, acknowledging the wisdom she’s gained through her experiences with North, mentioned that Kourtney always regarded North as a lesson for Kim on this planet. “I’m supposed to learn even more about patience—she teaches me patience. She has taught me a lot about life,” Kim reflected.

This introspective moment isn’t the first time Kim has shared insights into her journey as a mother. In a May episode of the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, she described motherhood as “the most rewarding job in the entire world.” Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of parenting, she added, “There is nothing that can prepare you… You are never prepared.”

Kim’s journey with North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm has been a testament to her resilience and adaptability as a mother. Embracing the challenges and triumphs of parenting, Kim concluded, “You will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out… And that you got through the day.”
