Di Voice, the latest addition to the Wasafi family, is already making waves with his debut 10-track album featuring collaborations with top Wasafi artists, including Diamond Platnumz himself. The album showcases a blend of talent and synergy, with contributions from Zuchu, Lava Lava, Mbosso, and the CEO of Wasafi, Diamond.
During his introduction, Di Voice captivated the audience with an electrifying performance. He shared the stage with Diamond and other label mates, delivering hits from his album and demonstrating his musical prowess.
Reflecting on his journey, Di Voice admitted to being initially intimidated by the prospect of working with a renowned artist like Diamond. He recounted how, after signing his contract, he was overwhelmed with emotion, signifying the magnitude of this step in his career.
Babu Tale, a manager at Wasafi, opened up about the label’s cautious approach towards signing new artists, influenced by the exits of previous talents like Rayvanny and Harmonize. He mentioned how these departures had made the label more prudent in scouting and nurturing new talent.
The topic of contract termination fees also came under discussion. Babu Tale addressed the industry-standard fees, explaining that the substantial amounts are justified by the investment made in promoting the artists. He also clarified that not all artists face these exit fees, citing Rich Mavoko’s departure as an example.
Wasafi’s current lineup is a constellation of stars, including Diamond Platnumz, Zuchu, Mbosso, Lava Lava, and Queen Darleen. RJ the DJ, Diamond’s brother, also forms part of the team, contributing his DJing skills rather than vocals.
