Career
Steve Craig’s football career began as a youth player at Raith Rovers. After leaving the club in 2000, he briefly played for junior club Broxburn Athletic. He then signed his first professional contract with Scottish First Division club Falkirk, initially on a three-month deal. However, after scoring on his debut, he was rewarded with a three-year contract.
In January 2003, Craig moved to Scottish Premier League club Motherwell. He made his debut in January, and in February, he scored his first goal for the club. He signed a new one-year contract with Motherwell in June 2003.
On May 12, 2004, Craig, along with his Motherwell teammate Derek Adams, signed a pre-contract with Aberdeen. He made his debut for Aberdeen in the opening match of the 2004-2005 season.
