Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz emotionally shared a promise he made to his mother, Mama Dangote, during their financial hardships before his music career took off.
In a lengthy post, Diamond expressed his deep emotions and reflected on the times when his mother tirelessly worked as a hairdresser in Kariakoo, returning home late at night on the Daladala bus. He recalled telling her, “Don’t worry, Mama, one day I will make it in music and open a salon for you.” These words remained etched in his memory.
He made the promise out of sheer pain, witnessing his mother’s late-night struggles to make ends meet.
Diamond professed his unwavering love, respect, and admiration for Mama Dangote, acknowledging that she is the driving force behind his relentless hard work day and night, all to see her smile.

Recently, Mama Dangote praised Diamond as her best friend, referring to him as “Hakimi” with the caption #Hakimi.
“Best yangu wa ukweli 💙 Naseeb kichwa @diamondplatnumz 🦁 Hakimi,” mama Dangote wrote.
Diamond responded to his mother’s post, acknowledging it positively without going into further detail.
“Mama Lion, my head ❤️” Diamond wrote.
His sister, Esma Platnumz, also chimed in, seemingly endorsing the comments made by Mama Dangote and her son.

These comments emerged at a time when Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi was reported to have registered his significant wealth under his mother’s name during their divorce, leaving his wife with little. Mama Dangote and Esma hinted that Diamond might have taken a similar approach to managing his assets.
