Jose Chameleone, the Leone Island boss, recently underwent emergency surgery in the United States. For over two years, he had been experiencing stomach pain, and despite medical advice, he had not undergone surgery until now.

During a trip to America last month, his condition worsened, leading to his admission to a hospital. It was discovered that he had a problem with his gallbladder, resulting in bile leakage into his gut.

Prior to the surgery, Jose Chameleone and his elder brother Humphrey also underwent surgeries in the US. Their visit to America followed a trip to Jamaica, where they explored various sites, including Bob Marley’s former home, now transformed into a museum.

Upon his return to the US, Jose Chameleone was rushed to a hospital in Minnesota, where he underwent the emergency surgery. Subsequently, sources reveal that he received a hospital bill exceeding UShs 370 million.

To address the financial burden, it is reported that Chameleone reached out to Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja for assistance. Additionally, his fellow artists and close friends in Kampala have been engaged in discussions to secure funds from the government to cover the hospital bill, as reported by the government-owned Bukedde newspaper.

The surgery marks an important step towards Jose Chameleone’s recovery, and efforts are underway to ensure his medical expenses are addressed.
