In response to the public outcry, Alikiba addressed the situation during a media briefing in Kenya, stating that signing the divorce papers should not be a problem. However, he later seemed to change his stance, suggesting that Amina might have been going through a difficult time when she made the public post.
He emphasized that their marital affairs are personal matters and not everyone’s concern. Ali Kiba alluded to the idea that there are certain days of the month when women may be more prone to disagreements, regardless of how peaceful the relationship is, and exercising wisdom in such situations is crucial.
The unfolding drama has left fans and followers curious about the true nature of the couple’s relationship and the reasons behind their apparent struggles.
Alikiba’s wife files for divorce, alleges infidelity and abuse
Alikiba’s wife has initiated divorce proceedings, citing allegations of infidelity and abuse. On February 10, a Kadhi’s court in Mombasa granted the Tanzanian singer 15 days to respond to the suit, warning that if he fails to do so, the case will proceed in his absence.
According to court documents, Khalef, Alikiba’s wife, stated that she was seeking a divorce because she felt unsafe in their home in Dar-es-Salaam. The couple got married in April 2018, but Khalef claims that about six months into their marriage, she started facing verbal abuse from her in-laws.
Khalef also accused Alikiba of infidelity, alleging that he engaged in public displays of unfaithfulness with different women, disregarding her feelings and making a mockery of their marriage.
Despite attempts to resolve their marital issues, Khalef said her husband remained unresponsive, leading her to believe that their marriage was irreparably broken.
