Bijoy Chatterjee introduced her to the film industry, and Soumitra Chatterjee played a significant role in helping her get the female lead role in the film “Stree Ki Patra.” Ganguly was asked to appear for a look test for the lead role in “Muktabandha,” but the screenplay writer considered her to be unsuitable for the part.

Chopra’s Mahabharat, but she claimed to have faced difficulties in her Bollywood career because of the casting couch issue.

Politics

Ganguly joined Bharatiya Janata Party prior to the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election and resigned from Artiste Forum due to her belief that a political figure should not hold a significant position in the forum. Despite their split, Ganguly and Mukherjee remained cordial whenever they encountered each other.

Ganguly had earned several accolades throughout her career, including a National Award, two Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Awards, and three Kalakar Awards. Her exceptional vocal skills were recognized in 2011 when she received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her contribution to Aditi Roy’s Bengali film, Abosheshey.
