Her debut in acting was with a Nepali movie called ‘Pheri Bhetaula’ (We Shall Meet Again) in 1989, and she made her Hindi movie debut with ‘Saudagar’ in 1991.

Manisha gained popularity with her remarkable performances in movies such as ‘1942: A Love Story (1994), ‘Bombay’ (1995), ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’ (1995), and ‘Agni Sakshi’ (1996), among others.
