On Tuesday, the Mumbai Indians secured their first win of the IPL 2023 season against the Delhi Capitals. The five-time champions defeated the only other team without a win this campaign in a thrilling match. MI chases down target in the last ball
In the match against DC, MI chased down a target of 173 in the last ball. The team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, led from the front with an impressive knock of 65 from 45 balls. Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan also contributed with scores of 41 and 31 respectively.
DC struggles to build a big total
Earlier, David Warner and Axar Patel hit half-centuries for Delhi Capitals, but their efforts were not enough as Piyush Chawla and Jason Behrendorff’s three-wicket hauls helped Mumbai Indians restrict DC to 172 all out in 19.4 overs. MI restricts DC’s scoring
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. His decision proved to be a wise one as Riley Meredith took two wickets, while Hrithik Shokeen also had a scalp to his name. The Mumbai Indians’ excellent bowling performance restricted Delhi Capitals’ scoring and helped them secure their first win of the IPL 2023 season.
