Jamie Foxx, whose real name is Eric Marlon Bishop, was born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas. He began his career as a stand-up comedian, performing at comedy clubs in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He made his television debut in the sketch comedy show “In Living Color” in 1991.

Jamie Foxx Acting Career
In 1992, Foxx made his film debut in the movie “Toys”. He then starred in several films throughout the 1990s, including “The Great White Hype”, “Booty Call”, and “Any Given Sunday”.
In 2004, Foxx received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic “Ray”, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He also starred in the films “Collateral” and “Jarhead” that same year.
In the late 2000s and early 2010s, Foxx starred in a number of successful films, including “Dreamgirls” (2006), “The Kingdom” (2007), and “Django Unchained” (2012). He also played the lead role in the television series “The Jamie Foxx Show” which ran from 1996-2001.
