The ISL (Indian Super League) is the top division of Indian football and comprises 11 teams from across India. The league runs from November to March and the teams play each other twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned champion.

It was founded in 2013 and is contested by ten teams. The teams are based in different cities across India, with the goal of promoting Indian football and providing a platform for Indian talent. The ISL is managed by Football Sports Development Limited, a joint venture between IMG, Reliance Industries, and Star India.
The league currently runs from October to March, with each team playing 18 matches in the regular season. The top four teams then qualify for the playoffs and the winner of the playoffs has crowned the champion. The ISL is broadcasted across India and internationally.
The points system for the ISL is as follows:
- Three points for a win
- One point for a draw
- No points for a loss
- Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, then goals scored
At the end of the season, the top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams play each other in the final, with the winner being declared the champion.
