The song “Surface Pressure” is featured in the 2021 Disney animated musical film Encanto. It was released as part of the film’s soundtrack on November 19, 2021, by Walt Disney Records.

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and performed by actress Jessica Darrow, who plays Luisa Madrigal in the film, the cumbia-style song illustrates Luisa’s struggles as the older sister with superhuman strength in her family.
The song received significant attention and was a commercial success, earning Darrow her first chart appearances worldwide. It reached number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100, making Encanto the first Disney film to produce two top-10 songs on the Hot 100, following the chart-topper “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”.
