Matthew McConaughey is an American actor and producer. He was born in Uvalde, Texas on November 4, 1969. He grew up in Longview, Texas, and graduated from Longview High School in 1988. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied radio-television-film.

McConaughey began his acting career in the early 1990s with small roles in films such as “Dazed and Confused” and “Anger Management.” He gained widespread recognition in 1996 with his lead role in the film “A Time to Kill,” and went on to star in a number of successful films throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, including “Contact,” “Amistad,” “EDtv,” “U-571,” “The Newton Boys,” and “Reign of Fire.”
