In 1994, Portman made her feature film debut in “Leon: The Professional,” opposite Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. This was followed by roles in films such as “Heat,” “Beautiful Girls,” “Everyone Says I Love You,” and “Mars Attacks!” In 1999, Portman starred in “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” as Padmรฉ Amidala, a role she reprised in the two following Star Wars prequel trilogy. Her portrayal of Amidala was well-received and helped establish her as a leading actress in Hollywood.
