Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Filming Locations: Is Wellsbury a Real Town?
The filming of the second season of Ginny & Georgia took place in Toronto and Cobourg in Canada. The cameras started rolling on November 29, 2021, and the shooting concluded on April 23, 2022. Here are all the locations where Ginny & Georgia season 2 was filmed:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The show was mainly shot in Toronto, the capital city of Ontario province in Canada. The cast and crew were seen filming at the Parkdale-High Park District and the Nelson A. Boylen Collegiate Institute, which is now permanently closed. The institute was utilized as the Wellsbury High School.
The Baby Point neighborhood in Toronto served as the locality for the houses of the Millers and Bakers. Some sequences were also shot at the TriBro Studios. The studio, situated at 6 Curity Avenue, comprises six sound stages. It also has production and location offices, carpentry and paint shops, and dedicated wardrobe and lockup spaces.

Previously, shows like The Umbrella Academy, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Boys, American Psycho, Suits, Mean Girls, and Orphan Black were also shot in Toronto. The city is known for its skyscrapers, trailers, parks, and zoos.
Cobourg, Ontario, Canada
The town of Cobourg near Toronto also serves as a filming location for Ginny & Georgia season 2. A number of sites in the town were utilized to shoot some key sequences, including the historical Victoria Hall on King Street, which was turned into the Wellsbury Town Hall.
A gastropub named The El doubled as Blue Farm Cafe, Joe’s restaurant. The cafe is also situated on King Street. Cobourg is the largest town in Northumberland County. The town is known for its historical building and rich heritage. Several hit shows and films have been shot in the town earlier, including Luckiest Girl Alive, Pixels, and The Sicks.
Is Wellsbury a Real Town?
The show takes place in Wellsbury in New England, Massachusetts. However, the town does not exist for real and is a fictional place created for the show. The locations in Toronto and Cobourg are used to depict the town of Wellsbury.
Show creator Sarah Lampert previously revealed that she based Wellsbury on Newton, the city she grew up in. The city is located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Lampert also got inspired by her experiences in the city while growing up and represented the social and cultural aspects of the place in the show.
