Carry-on football – Keane slams ‘drunk’ De Gea after ‘horrendous mistake’ against Everton. Roy Keane has slammed Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea for his mistake against Everton in Friday’s FA Cup clash at Old Trafford.
Keane is not De Gea’s biggest fan and had another chance to criticise him after he had a shocker on Friday evening.

Neal Maupay managed to squeeze the ball through the Spaniard’s legs with a very weak effort, with Conor Coady given the chance to tap the ball in.
De Gea had what can only be described as a brain fart as he couldn’t decide whether or not to control or save the shot.
Keane went in on the experienced goalkeeper in comical fashion.
The former United captain said it was a “horrendous mistake” from a player who looked like “he’s had a few drinks”. Superb.

“Shocking mistake… it’s shocking from an international goalkeeper,” he told ITV at half-time.
“De Gea is like carry-on football, it’s like he’s had a few drinks.
“It’s almost as if a keeper has been sent off and an outfield player has gone in goal and he doesn’t know what to do. Horrendous mistake.”
ITV colleague Ian Wright added: “You’re talking about a goalkeeper who was once one of the best with their feet.”

United took the lead very early on thanks to a goal from summer signing Antony.
Coady then equalised after the hilarious error from De Gea.

“It will be vital for Erik ten Hag and this squad to win silverware,” he told BBC Sport. “It means a hell of a lot and the taste of success is incredible and it does propel you forward.
“The longer you go without a trophy, the harder it gets because everyone else improves and upgrades.
“The way Manchester United are going this season they will definitely be looking at silverware.”
Roy Keane remarked that David De Gea looked like he had “had a few drinks” when his error allowed Everton to score in their FA Cup tie with Manchester United.
The Red Devils were a goal up on Friday night when Neal Maupay’s cross from the right squirmed through the goalkeeper’s legs and allowed Conor Coady to level the scores.

United won their third-round tie nonetheless after Coady’s own goal after the break and Marcus Rashford’s late penalty.
But Keane was left baffled by De Gea’s “shocking mistake”
“It’s a shocking mistake from an international goalkeeper,” he tells ITV.
“Everton have shown a bit of fight, turned it into a cup tie, but De Gea there is like Carry On Football. Looks as if he’s almost had a few drinks! Shocking mistake.
“It’s almost as if the keeper’s been sent off and an outfield player has gone in goal, and he doesn’t now what to do. A horrendous mistake and it gives a big lift to Everton.”
