The official poster for Teen Wolf: The Movie celebrates the return of many original cast members. The series is part of a surprisingly vast franchise that began with the Michael J. Fox teen comedy Teen Wolf in 1985, a film that was followed by a short-lived 1986 animated series of the same name and the 1987 sequel Teen Wolf Too. After going dormant for some time, the franchise was resurrected in a more gritty and realistic form in the MTV series Teen Wolf, which ran for 6 seasons between 2011 and 2017. Now that branch of the franchise is returning in movie form, with Teen Wolf: The Movie poised to premiere on Paramount+ on January 26, 2023, featuring many of the series cast members returning alongside several new characters.
ComicBook shared the first official poster, roughly two months ahead of the release of Teen Wolf: The Movie. Paramount+ unveiled the design during a cast panel at the Brazilian convention 2022 CCXP. The design, which bears the tagline “The Pack is Back,” shows the returning cast members arranged artfully in front of the encroaching darkness. Tyler Hoechlin’s Derek Hale tops the image in the middle of wolfing out, while Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall stands front and center, his glowing amber eyes shining from darkened sockets.

Everything We Know About Teen Wolf: The Movie
As revealed by this poster, a huge amount of original cast members from the Teen Wolf series are returning for the movie. In addition to Hoechlin and Posey, this includes Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore, Shelley Hennig as Malia Tate, Dylan Sprayberry as Liam Dunbar, and Linden Ashby as Noah Stilinski. Perhaps the most prominent cast member who will not be returning is The Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien as Stiles Stilinski, though both Kira Yukimura actress Arden Cho and Theo Raeken star Cody Christian declined to return.
The film was directed by Highlander’s Russell Mulcahy from a script by Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis. The story will pick up in 2026, which is roughly 13 years after the timeline of the series finale. As Scott McCall’s hometown of Beacon Hills is beset once more by a variety of supernatural shapeshifters including Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and more, he will be pulled from his peaceful life back into his duties as an alpha, which will require him to assemble his old friends along with some new supernaturally imbued allies to help defend their home.
Beyond that, the plot details of Teen Wolf: The Movie are being kept tightly under wraps. However, with the release date less than two months away, it seems very likely that Paramount+ is preparing to share the first official trailer for the project soon. Now that the poster has whet the appetite of Teen Wolf fans, the trailer can elaborate on where these characters are at the beginning of their brand-new adventure.
