Jessica Chastain shocks Internet with her recent statement on Ukraine

Jessica Chastain doesn’t usually keep quiet when it comes to expressing her opinion on issues that are often controversial, and her most recent public expression, related to Ukraine, probably won’t go down well in several circles.

Chastain claimed that the reason people are supporting Ukraine is that the country is filled with mostly, “white people.” “I’ve done a lot of press recently, and a lot of people want to talk about Ukraine. But when I bring up Iran, no one wants to talk about it,” she added.

She believes the focus is on Ukraine because of a racial issue

Chastain added, “I think because it’s a women-led revolution, and I think because Ukraine is mostly white people.” She expressed her support on Instagram some time ago for Mahsa Amini, who was killed while in police custody in Iran because she wore the hijab incorrectly.

Jessica claims that the focus is on Ukraine because of the white people living there, instead of focusing on Iran and the protesters being killed there.

Declares herself a ‘fierce’ protector of women

The Oscar winner declared that she is “fiercely” protective of women, as she should be, and as the rest of the world should be. But her comments about Ukraine being the focus of everyone’s attention and making it a racial issue could get her in trouble.

Chastain has been openly supportive of Ukraine prior to her comments, so it’s a bit odd that she seems to be painting the “humanitarian crisis” in the country negatively, as she claims.
