On Friday, Vidineac said that a Bucharest court accepted an application by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) to hold his clients for 30 days. DIICOT held the Tate brothers for 24 hours before extending the detention to a month.
Besides Andrew and Tristan Tate, two Romanian men were also arrested in the five-house raid, with authorities calling them “an organized crime group.”

The allegations claim that six people were “sexually exploited” by the “organized criminal group,” which coerced them into performing pornographic acts.
Why was Andrew Tate arrested?
Tate, 36, and his brother were arrested over an investigation into allegations of human trafficking and rape. The statement claims that the victims were tricked “into believing that they intended to enter into a marriage/cohabitation relationship.”
In 2022, Tate’s home in Romania was reportedly raided over similar allegations that later proved not to be true.

The arrest comes shortly after Tate trolled Greta Thunberg on Twitter. A spokesperson for DIICOT said the pizza boxes in Tate’s video to Thunberg did not play a role in the arrest.
