- Go to WhatsApp
- Tap More Options which is followed by three dots on top of each other
- Go to Settings
- Go to Chats
- Go to Chat backup
- Click BACK UP
And now all your WhatsApp messages are backed up.
What can you backup on WhatsApp?
WhatsApp allows you to send several messages in different forms. Backing up chats means that you can backup anything from photos and videos.

You can also backup important documents that you send through the app. You might prefer using voice notes rather than text messages, and you can back those up too. Locations, gifs, and maybe any contacts sent or added will also be backed up.
Where is my WhatsApp backup stored?
You choose where you would like to store your WhatsApp backup. So if you’re using an Apple product and want your messages saved on iCloud, then here is how:
- Access your iPhone’s settings
- Access Apple ID
- Click iCloud
- Find the WhatsApp icon on the app list that you have
- Click the toggle to activate the backup location – this might already be turned on
If you have an Android, your messages are saved automatically and daily. To access the backup, you can access your local storage or sd card on your phone.
You might also want to look out for the words internal storage or main storage, as many phones call this location by a different name. Then find the WhatsApp icon and access databases through it.
