Ronaldo will join the five World Cup tournament appearances club in Qatar, after making his competition debut for Portugal back in 2006.
His first taste of World Cup football proved to be his most successful to date, with Luis Felipe Scolari’s side edged out by Zinedine Zidane’s France in the last four.
Aside from that, Ronaldo has never gone beyond the last 16 with his national side, and Qatar could be the last-chance saloon for the 37-year-old.

Ronaldo scored the winning penalty in Portugal’s shoot-out victory over England to send the Selecao into the semifinals, where a Zinedine Zidane penalty was enough to earn France victory and end Portugal’s best run in the competition since 1966.
