Former Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, on Friday confirmed that he would be out of action for a longer time.

Ozil, who currently plays for Istanbul Basaksehir after Fenerbahce terminated his contract a few months ago, disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter handle.
The 33-year-old said he would undergo surgery this weekend.
The former Real Madrid star wrote:
“Unfortunately, I will be out for a longer time. I will be undergoing a surgery this weekend to finally get pain-free in my back again.
“I will try everything to get back on the pitch as soon as possible again. Thanks for all your love & support.”
Ozil joined Fenerbahce in January 2021 after Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, froze him out of his playing squad.
The former Germany international was allowed to leave the Emirates prematurely and put pen to paper at Fenerbahce on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
But after a decent start which saw him score nine times in 26 appearances, the World Cup winner was ostracised after a falling out with then manager Ismail Kartal.
