These steak and mushroom bites are low effort, high reward. The marinade is made with ingredients you most likely have on hand. And although the meat would benefit from hanging in the mixture for a while, as long as you give it some time to hang out, it’ll take on the flavor.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 1″ cubes
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 c. low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp. hot sauce
- 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz. baby Bella mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tsp. fresh thyme
DIRECTIONS
Step 1
Season steak with paprika, salt, and pepper all over. Add soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and hot sauce to a resealable bag. Add steak and toss around to make sure the steak is covered. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
Step 2
Remove steak from the marinade and discard extra marinade. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add steak and cook tossing around for 5 minutes. Remove from skillet.
Step 3
Return the skillet over medium heat and melt butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute. Add mushrooms and thyme and cook until mushrooms are golden about 5 minutes. Return steak to skillet and toss to warm through.
