The bodies of about 236 people who lost their lives are expected to be removed from morgues in Nairobi in Kenya and thrown away after staying for a long time in those morgues without being recognized by the close relatives of the deceased.
According to the information provided by secretary Jairus Musumba, it states that the bodies that are expected to be disposed of are those that were received and stored in the mortuary between March 2021 and March 2022.
According to the health laws in Kenya, close relatives are required to identify the corpses of their relatives within 7 days, and failure to do so will give the relevant hospital the opportunity to take the bodies and dispose of them or hide them as ordered by the law enforcement agencies, and thus due to and that law, the Hospitals have reached the point of deciding to dispose of the bodies after they could not be identified for a long period of almost a whole year.
