Black Panther 2 is heading towards its cinema release later this year (finally). the highly-anticipated MCU sequel restarted production in January 2022 and had another week-long delay due to Covid, but is expected to wrap up in February. The break between November 2021 to January 2022 was to give Letitia Wright time to recover after an on-set injury.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Black Panther. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the sequel to Black Panther (2018) and the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is being directed by Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole, and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, and Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Dominique Thorne.
“The sequel will be the first time we’ve returned to Wakanda since the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020, with everybody involved in the production keen to ensure it pays tribute to the late star”.

It’s been confirmed that the sequel will honour the legacy of Chadwick Boseman and won’t recast the role of T’Challa. Thankfully as well, there are no plans to use a ‘digital double’ in the sequel.
After the delay in October 2021, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will now be out in cinemas on November 11, 2022.

That’s a move of four months from July 2022 and the sequel takes the place of The Marvels, which moves back to February 17, 2023. While nothing is set in stone, we hope this will be the last shift for the movie.
Filming started in June 2021, but as mentioned above, there was a hiatus between November 2021 to January 2022. Production restarted in January 2022, although there was another week-long delay shortly after the restart.
Now, however, filming has wrapped which means it could hit that November 11 release date.
