Zuchu

You actually don’t have to be so much into music to hear this name, Zuchu. Her real name is Zuhura Othman Said, a star from Zanzibar, Tanzania, and a seed from the Great Taarab Queen, Khadija Omar Kopa her mother.

Zuchu since she was signed to WCB Wasafi record label in 2020, a 28-year-old princess has brought great success and great honor to the label and the country.

Zuchu in just a week she had 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, a record set by herself, and she was awarded Silver Plaque Button by YouTube.

She has been on the most-watched lists since she arrived in this industry. Her song ‘Sukari’ is the most-watched video for the last year on YouTube.

2. Nandy.

Faustina Charles Mfinanga is Nandy’s real name. An African Princess came in music map after being a first runner-up in Tecno’s own stage competition in Lagos, Nigeria in early 2016.

Nandy started with nagusa gusa single and became hitsong in just weeks. Since then Nandy has been a Hardworking artist revealing opportunities inside and outside the country.

Nandy in 2017 was Best Female artist in East Africa in All Africa music award and in 2018 she was the Best Female Newcomer in AMI award Afrika and she won Best Female artist in 2020 in 2020 African Entertainment awards USA, not to mention a lot of her nominations.

Nandy released her first album ‘African Princess’ in 2018 and her latest EP ‘ Taste of Love’ in 2021 with a hit song ‘Nimekuzoea’ in It. Nandy is always on the top ten lists of most-streamed, watched, and best artists in Tanzania and East Africa in general.

3. Rosa Ree

It’s not easy for females to be in Hip Hop music and still on top, Rosary Robert Iwole, famously known as Rosa Ree, has proven that hard work is the key.

Rosa Ree is one of the best rappers in East Africa right now but her star shined since 2015 when she was signed on The industry studios and released her very first song ‘one time’ Followed by ‘up in the air.

A 26-year-old rapper later left The Industry and started to work independently. ‘Goddess’ is how she calls herself and her consistency and hard work prove that.

In 2020 she was one of the most nominated artists in the Afrima awards. Inspite of being a rapper Rosa Ree still manages Fashion and styles and that’s what makes her more attractive.

4. Maua Sama

Her beautiful voice is what made rapper Mwana FA introduce her to the music game.

Maua Sama is a very beautiful and attractive talent Tanzania is proud of, she was firstly denied to do music by her parents, wanting her to finish school first, Maua fought for her dreams and met FA and they did a very beautiful R&b song ‘so crazy’. Maua isn’t just one of the best but she is also trusted, she has been nominated in a number of international awards.

In 2018 Maua featured Hanstone In her song ‘Iokote’ which became a huge song internationally. Maua is a very cooperative artist and so loving, she has collaborated with her fellow artists like Vanessa Mdee, Stamina & Roma and so many others.

5. Saraphina

A young and Fresh mesmerizing Talent discovered by Bongo Star Search 2018, Saraphina Michael (melanin queen).

After Winning BSS 2018 she had to finish school and when she was done she came back with immeasurable speed. With Just a few songs like “Sio Kitoto”, “In Love” and “Pekecha” she gained fame and made it into top numbers.

Saraphina has been featured in some beautiful songs, and of course, the songs were beautiful because of her beautiful voice, songs like Kushki by one of the Tanzanian great artists ‘Chege’ and ‘Yule’ by rapper Stamina.

She is most loved for her confidence, Swaggz, fashion, and physical beauty. Saraphina so far has been one of the three artists from Tanzania that had a chance to represent the nation on Expo2020 Dubai this year.

Saraphina is an artist to be carefully watched because she is valuable and nobody would want to lose something valuable.
