BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. Originally a hip-hop group, their musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres.

South Korean boy band BTS also known as the Bangtan Boys, have released nine (9) studio albums (one of which was reissued under a different title), six (6) compilation albums, six (6) extended plays, and eleven singles.

In December 2018, BTS surpassed 10 million albums sold, setting the record for reaching that milestone in the shortest span of time (5½ years) among all Korean acts to have debuted since 2000, with five million of those albums being sold in South Korea in 2018 alone.

By April 2020, the group had sold over 20 million physical albums in South Korea in less than seven years, and became the best-selling Korean act of all time. As of November 2021, they have sold over 32.7 million albums domestically.

On November 23, 2021, BTS’ “Butter” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

At the end of November, BTS returned to live performances, following a number of previous cancellations during 2021 due to COVID-19, in Los Angeles with The Independent reporting that, “Over the course of a thrilling two-and-a-half-hour show, the band’s seven members deliver a sublime succession of pop hits, combining meticulously choreographed dance routines with clearly unrehearsed moments of heartfelt sincerity”.
