When we put some light on nominations for the Grammy Awards 2023, Beyoncé leads the list of nominees with a total of nine nods. Queen Bey has bagged nine nominations for her seventh studio album Renaissance.
Beyoncé’s smashing hit single Break My Soul, got nominated in the categories of song and record of the year. In addition to this, she secured three R&B nominations: one for her Oscar-nominated track “Be Alive” and two in the dance category — a first for the singer.
Now, the Crazy in Love singer has even set a new record with 88 nominations throughout her career. She tied with her husband Jay-Z as the most nominated artist in Grammy history.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Recording Academy president Harvey Mason jr. said, “Seeing Beyoncé with that amount of nominations — it just blows me away. It’s a testament to who she is, the talent she has (and) the iconic music she’s put out over the years.”
Next in line is Kendrick Lamar, who scored eight nominations, followed by Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven nods each. Artists like Bad Bunny, Lizzo, Adele, ABBA, and Harry Styles are also competing in categories such as Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

In the clip posted on social media, Questlove can be heard saying, “I’m really really thrilled to announce that there’s gonna be a special segment on the Grammy telecast, this Sunday night, honoring hip-hop’s 50th.”
He further added, “Can you believe 50? It’s going to be an absolutely amazing moment with some of the biggest names from the genre coming together to celebrate hip-hop history — its past, its present, its future.”
The Summer of Soul star went on to say that hip-hop’s “impact on our culture and our world” is “immeasurable” and described it as a “driving force in the music, in the culture.” He continued, “I’ve had the great privilege of co-curating this thing with The Roots and many many others that are gonna join us that night. So, you gotta see it.”
