The late Marco Joseph, a beloved member of the Zabron Singers, gained widespread recognition for his contributions to Swahili gospel music. One of the group’s songs became a defining anthem in President William Ruto’s 2022 campaign. Last year, Marco released Daktari, a heartfelt song in which he called upon Jesus as the “Doctor of his heart.”

Tragically, Marco Joseph passed away on Wednesday night at the Jakaya Kikwete Heart Institute (JKCI) in Dar es Salaam, where he was undergoing treatment. His passing, confirmed by fellow group member Japhet Zabron, was due to a sudden heart attack that began the previous Sunday. His loss has deeply impacted the group and its followers.
