Despite the sudden downpour and the slippery stage, Underwood didn’t let the mishap spoil the fun. In a video obtained by TMZ, she can be seen losing her footing and taking a tumble, much to the shock of her fans, who can be heard screaming, “She fell!”
The “Blown Away” singer took to Instagram after the incident, showing her resilience and good spirits. She posted a video of herself performing in the pouring rain with the caption, “We won’t let a little rain stop us! We won’t let a massive downpour stop us, either!” Following her fall, she added, “Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget! 🌧️💧☔️ Thanks for being awesome, #MyrtleBeach!!!”
Underwood’s fall at the music festival brought back memories of a more serious accident in 2017 when she tripped on the steps outside her Nashville home. That incident resulted in a broken wrist requiring surgery and over 40 stitches to her face. The Grammy-winning artist has since opened up about that accident, describing it as a terrifying moment but one she has recovered from.
Despite the unexpected tumble at the Carolina Country Music Fest, Underwood’s performance and positive attitude once again demonstrated her professionalism and dedication to her fans.
