Kelly Rowland's Cannes Security Guard Also Had Run-In with South Korean Actress

Kelly Rowland is gaining allies in her recent encounter with a Cannes Film Festival security guard. South Korean actress Yoona is now the third woman to have a similar incident with the same guard.

Yoona, a K-pop star turned actress, was posing for photos on the grand staircase when the security guard blocked her with an arm and rushed her into the event. Unlike Rowland, Yoona did not react aggressively, though her frustration was evident.

Earlier, Dominican actress Massiel Taveras had a heated exchange with the same guard, who tried to block her photos at a screening. Taveras defied the guard, pushing her aside to unfurl her gown’s train, which featured an image of Jesus Christ.

These incidents all involved women of color, and Kelly Rowland has spoken out about what she believes is discrimination. She noted, “There were other women who attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off.”

Kelly addressed the issue publicly, emphasizing the importance of standing by her boundaries. She said, “I have a boundary and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it.”

The Cannes Film Festival has not yet commented on these run-ins, but the recurring pattern has raised questions about the treatment of these women by festival security.
