Johnny Wactor, known for his role on the TV series “General Hospital,” has died at 37 after being shot in downtown Los Angeles during a robbery.

Wactor was shot on May 25 while attempting to stop thieves tampering with his car, his mother confirmed to NBC Los Angeles. Police received a call at 3:25 a.m. about the shooting. Wactor encountered three men trying to steal his car’s catalytic converter. One suspect shot Wactor, and all three fled the scene. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Wactor’s agent, David Shaul, confirmed the actor’s death, describing him as a “spectacular human being” and a “real moral example” who was dedicated to his craft.
Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Wactor had a career spanning over 15 years. He started in 2007 on “Army Wives” and starred in the supernatural drama “Siberia” in 2013. He also appeared in shows like “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS,” “The OA,” “Westworld,” and the movie “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” with Nicolas Cage.
Wactor gained fame in 2020 for his role as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital,” appearing in over 160 episodes until 2022.
