Days after the operation, performed on January 4th, Demi began experiencing chest pains. On the day she was scheduled to return home, she was en route to a clinic in Istanbul for a post-surgery check-up when she suffered a heart attack in a taxi. Her partner, Bradley Jones, attempted CPR in a desperate effort to save her life.
Demi was rushed to intensive care but unfortunately passed away on January 8th. It is believed that her death was caused by a series of heart attacks resulting from a fat embolism.
This was not Demi’s first cosmetic procedure in Turkey, having previously experienced issues with dental work and another surgery. Her brother, Carl, aged 37, shared the family’s grief and shock with The Sun, stating that they had tried to dissuade her from going through with the surgery. He warned others against traveling to Turkey for similar operations, emphasizing the high risks involved.
Carl recounted the harrowing details of Demi’s final moments and the family’s struggle to come to terms with her untimely death. The family is awaiting a coroner’s report from Turkey and is in the process of obtaining a death certificate to bring Demi home.
Demi leaves behind three young children, including a seven-month-old baby. Her younger sister, Georgina, also expressed her profound loss in an emotional tribute on TikTok, highlighting the void left by Demi’s absence. This tragic story serves as a somber reminder of the potential risks associated with cosmetic surgeries, especially when performed abroad.
