French transfer market expert Santi Aouna, through Footmercato, reports that Mbappe has agreed to join the La Liga giants, having declined to renew his contract with PSG. The 25-year-old football sensation was legally free to enter discussions with other clubs from January 1, given that he was in the last six months of his PSG contract. Real Madrid wasted no time and began negotiations shortly thereafter.
On January 4th, Mbappe expressed that he hadn’t finalized a decision regarding his future but emphasized his high motivation for the year. He mentioned the importance of focusing on the titles ahead and stated, “I haven’t made up my mind yet. I haven’t made a choice.” However, he acknowledged a prior agreement made with PSG’s President, ensuring that any decision would protect all parties involved and maintain the club’s serenity.
After two consecutive summers of transfer speculations involving Mbappe and Real Madrid, it now appears, as per Aouna and Footmercato, both highly credible sources in France, that an agreement has been reached. According to their reports, Mbappe is set to become a Real Madrid player in July, marking a significant shift in European football dynamics.
