Mary Poppins actress, Glynis Johns, has passed away at the age of 100. The British actress, renowned for her role as the suffragette mother Winifred Banks in the iconic 1964 movie musical “Mary Poppins,” died of natural causes in an assisted living facility in the Los Angeles area, confirmed by her manager Mitch Clem.

Johns, a distinguished actress both on film and stage, had a remarkable career that spanned over six decades. In addition to her memorable performance in “Mary Poppins,” she also won critical acclaim for her role in the Stephen Sondheim musical “A Little Night Music,” earning her a Tony Award in 1973. Her versatility as an actress was further highlighted by her Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the 1960 film “The Sundowners.”

Her filmography includes playing a charming mermaid in “Miranda” (1948) and its sequel “Mad About Men” (1954), and a captivating hotel keeper in “The Sundowners,” where she starred alongside Robert Mitchum, Deborah Kerr, and Peter Ustinov.
