In her emotional post, Aniston shared a photograph of herself and Perry, smiling together during their time on the set of ‘Friends’. She reflected on the joy and laughter Perry brought to her and their fellow cast members, drawing parallels between his real-life persona and his beloved character, Chandler Bing.
Aniston’s post read, “Oh boy, this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply. He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be. Matty, I love you so much, and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying ‘Could you BE any crazier? Rest, little brother.”
Aniston and Perry’s friendship extended well beyond their on-screen collaboration, lasting through the show’s 12 seasons and beyond. Perry had previously spoken highly of Aniston, acknowledging her support and confrontational approach regarding his addiction issues in an interview in October 2022.
Following Perry’s death, his death certificate was released, revealing that the cause of death was deferred. He was found deceased in his hot tub on October 28. On November 3, Perry was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, close to the Warner Bros. Studios lot, marking a somber end to a beloved actor’s journey.
