Golden Boy alleged that Jay Melody’s team assaulted him following a misunderstanding. Determined to seek justice, Golden Boy followed them to Nairobi to report the incident to the authorities.

“We had a few misunderstandings with one of my artists from Tanzania who we have been hosting here, his crew attacked me and assaulted me physically and I felt that I had to take legal action,” Golden Boy stated.

Without delving into further details, Golden Boy expressed disappointment in Jay Melody’s team, labeling their behavior as unprofessional. He clarified that he was simply carrying out his duties as a promoter when the attack occurred, leading him to pursue legal action.

Jay Melody was not directly involved in the assault. It was his manager who was at the center of the incident. After spending a significant portion of the day at Kilimani Police Station, Jay Melody’s manager was eventually released with the intervention of artists Jaguar, Brown Mauzo, Gabu of P-Unit, and promoter Eric One Wash. They came together to peacefully resolve the matter.

Jaguar clarified that Jay Melody himself was not implicated in the attack. Rather, it was his manager who faced the allegations. Jaguar, alongside Mike Sonko, played a crucial role in bringing the parties involved together and resolving the issue.

This incident marks the second occasion where a Tanzanian artist has faced legal complications in Kenya. In May 2022, Harmonize found himself at the same police station after accusations of failing to fulfill a club appearance despite receiving payment. Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko intervened to secure Harmonize’s release in that instance.
