Patrick James Riley (born March 20, 1945) is an American NBA executive, former coach, and player. He has been Miami Heat‘s team president since 1995, also serving as head coach (1995–2003, 2005–2008). Known as “The Godfather,” he won five NBA championships as a head coach—four with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s and one with the Heat in 2006.
A nine-time NBA champion, he was NBA Coach of the Year three times and inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
